When I lived in Israel some 12 years ago, Psytrance was all the rage. During the same period I was on a quest for something more ambient but with the same psychedelic vibe - something not so fast-paced and hectic yet retaining all the depth and complexity of sound and consciousness. It is from this desire that I found myself exploring the world of what was to become IDM. Eventually, ambient psychedelic music did find a home and from time to time "ambient psytrance" albums were released from the likes of Flying Rhino, Spiral Trax, Blue Room and similar lables. They always left me wanting more however as they were essentially slower psytrance but not necessary more mellow or ambient.
Had Bluetech's "Sines and Singularities" album been released 12 years ago it would have been the most incredible find ever but even today it fits the bill perfectly.
