Hey Everyone, I just found a really sweet sound library, designed by Otto Von schirach. He is one of my all time favorite artists, and I'm soooooo excited that he is finally doing some sound design work that everyone else can use. Def. not like anything on the market, that I know of. They said on the site that is it going to use the kontakt 2 player by native instruments. Not quite sure what that means.... but they said it's going to use construction sounds, loops and sequences. very exciting..... i can't wait!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.fixednoise.com -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Otto-von-schirach-sound-library-t1209661.html#a3196327 Sent from the IDM forum at Nabble.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I picked up Escalo Frio a while back and didn't like it at all. Is the rest of his stuff like that? Matt --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i'm not familiar with that record in particular... I became a fan when I saw him open for skinny puppy last year. I looked it that record up, and it looks like an import that is over 5 years old. His sound design is really amazing... even if the music isnt your cup of tea... I have a friend that does a lot of cues for film, and he's also really excited about it, to use it out of the idm / industrial context.... -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Otto-von-schirach-sound-library-t1209661.html#a3198349 Sent from the IDM forum at Nabble.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I heard Escalo Frio is a great record, but never had any chance to put my hands on it. From what i recall anyway, I liked the Otto von schirach material I heard on radio. Is there any particular record you would suggest to me to get a listen to?

Funny enough, I saw von Schirach last year at DEMF/Fuse-In (Detroit) at an afterparty at Magic Stick. He performed this awesome combination of booty house and broken beat noisecore that I totally loved (in a 1-hour dose). Can't say much about his recordings yet, but his live show was a riot. I missed this thread somehow. 8000BC was my favorite for a while, But in retrospect its not entirely representative of otto now. Its an awesome glitch record with creative sound design. I'd say Chopped Zombie Fungus is the closest approximation of Newer Otto, although I think he's beyond due for something new. He's also got nice tits. - cutups --- WRECKED electronic music mailorder http://wrecked-distro.com -----Original Message----- From: Luis-Manuel Garcia [mailto:lgarcia@uchicago.edu] Sent: Thursday, March 02, 2006 11:23 AM Cc: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] Otto von schirach -suggested records? Dig 8000BC the best out of most of his stuff also.... Like some soundtrack accompanying the crunchy-liquidy fungal-fueled visions of a foraging caveman. Very Prehistoric.

Fun also. Check out "Armpit Buffet", a 20 track remix monster with a nice crew of folks remixing Otto Von Schirach tunes (Phoenecia, Venetian Snares, Soft Pink Truth, Hearts Of Darkness, Mochipet, Richard Devine, Jamie Lidell, Dino Felipe, + more)... np: Otto Von Schirach ~ 'Boombonic Plague {Phoenecia Remix}' --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
