We have been heartened to hear the very generous comments about our latest release, Secrets to Tell You... cyberCHUMP is "one of the most intriguing, unpredictable, and ENJOYABLE recording acts in ambient music... Skeel and G.E. are the definitive renaissance men when it comes to integrating musical explorations into an accessible framework." - Bill Binkleman - Wind and Wire "This is an album that cuts across many genres, and the variety of sounds and textures makes for exciting listening. Not content to repeat safe formulas, cyberCHUMP is about exploring and fusing different elements. Recommended, especially to lovers of fusion and rhythmic ambient, this is a great addition to any ambient music collection!" -Dodds Wiley - Ambient.us "Skeel?s tendencies to jam are an intriguing counterpoint to Mark G.E.?s methodical experimentation and provide an emotionally rewarding payoff... a dramatic avant-garde score coated with textures that give winks to Eno, Bowie and Tangerine Dream. Woah! Interesting to see CC poke their head out again. I received a couple promos from them a year or two back and was really impressed by the music. To be honest, the only complaint I had was a) the band name (cyberCHUMP really comes off negative to me) and b) the album artwork (not really representative of the music nor especially attractive imo). Anyhow, the music is good :) Shimone/Justes http://www.staticbeats.com http://www.jungle-life.com http://www.boomboombap.com --- "MarkGE (sent by Nabble.com)" <lists@nabble.com> wrote:

Shimone/Justes: Jim and I are the first to admit we are chumps when it comes trying to figure out how to get the software and hardware to work together... and we are of the mind that ambient music could use a bit more humour. Hope you check out the cover of Secrets... its is by the reknown surrealist J. Karl Bogartte... Glad you like the music! Thanks for the compliments. Regarding our name... it is rather self-deprecating. Sitting in a pile of connected cords, equipment, software, ftp protocols, etc. sometimes we get lost and feel like a couple of chumps who don't know how to operate any of it. -- Sent from the IDM forum at Nabble.com: http://www.nabble.com/chumpNEWS-Aug05-t233130.html#a1674917
