Ok, so for a discussion, lets see a show of hands, who is going to Sonar this year and who are you psyched to see? *me* - I'm really excited by the line-up, its much better than i was expecting.. I'm looking forward to seeing: Towatom - Atom Heart v. Towa Tei Mouse On Mars Radian M.I.A. Doseone Showcases.. minus presents MINIMIZEtoMAXIMIZE TYPE REC. presents plus a whole bunch of people i've never heard of, which is excellent. I think the best thing is thats there no really big cheesy names - well there is, but no-one offensively bad. And then theres always the Wrong Festival and Versus Electronics, so much muchness! thor -----------------------------------------------------------------------| Highpoint Lowlife Records http://www.highpointlowlife.com/ bitmapped indie-electronic goodness since '01 ------------------------| -----------------------------------------------------------------------| --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Oh, i didn't notice Subtle when i was reading the line-up, thats awesome. I saw Subtle with the Notwist in London a few months back and they were excellent. On that note, anyone else get the 13&God album? Stunning album i think.

Partially because a lot of the people that got into this stuff years ago are now producing stuff/running labels. The eBay ads don't bother me at all because I know that I can usually trust the people on here who are selling stuff, so it's a good way to come by some good music. The other reason that this list seems like all advertisements is that very few people actually have discussions about the music itself. In fact, if anything this list seems to be more of a "What's going on in X this weekend because I'm going to be there" list. Same rules apply. Delete what doesn't interest you, start interesting discussion about music if you want to increase the signal/noise. New Hawk and a Hacksaw, while not IDM, is a good listen. At least after the first two tracks it is. New Books, also not so IDM, is incredible. I would never have heard of either of these releases if I hadn't gotten into this type of music, though, so that's how it all comes together. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I know people will hate me for mentioning the new Daft Punk cd but this new cd is a lot different than there other stuff. It's kind of like and electronica opera. Very 70's fabulous and very repetative but thats what they are good at, making one great loop. Alan Lucas <alucas@gmail.com> wrote:On 4/19/05, ed c wrote:
