Hi Folks I'm not a lurker but have just briefly popped over from the 313 list next door to ask if anyone has, or knows of anyone who has, a spare ticket for the Autechre gig here in Manchester UK on 16th April that they'd like to sell. I can't pay silly money as I do have a ticket myself but am looking for one for a friend who's curious, not having heard of Ae before but I think he'll enjoy so I'm trying to get him one so I guess we're talking £10 - £12. If anyone can help hit me back at francis@thatamazingthing.com as I'm going to unsub after this - not that I'm not interested in what's afoot over here, on the contrary (hmmm, might have to check those online stores out), it's just I have enough info / mailbox overload going on with the 313 list! Take care & thanks Francis Wooff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

let me second Jason's recommendation of ear-rational.com. if you are in colorado, ordering from ear-rational has the added bonus of getting to you the day after dave mails stuff out, as he's in boulder. hell, he's even met me in person to hand-deliver a fairly big order! plus, with ear-rational's label subscription service, you can be sure you'll never miss a single release on your favorite label. ear/rational has been around for years (93?) and is worthy of your business. cheers w --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I highly recommend Wrecked. Ordered off them and managed to get a pretty rare V Snares record that I think was OOP for ages. Good order tracking system too and fast shipping times. Does PBE finally have a website? If not, that's bunk. Why on earth he insists on using e-mail only in 2005 is beyond me. I mean, it was excusable back in '97 maybe... What's the big deal about not having a website? Dave carries tons and tons of great stuff, and runs one of the tighest businesses I've ever dealt with. Always organized, always prompt, and you always know what's in the pipeline. I like the fact that he doesn't have a website. Easier to just check the emails that come out. I've ordered from PBE as well. Nothing wrong with his business. In fact, I wholeheartedly recommend PBE. I'm just wondering why in the world he doesn't have a website by now. It's a *lot* easier to use a search function on a properly organized website and add to a wish list, or to a shopping cart, than it is to scan over an e-mail, imo. -- Mr. Tangent [the binary police] www.mrtangent.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

As someone who has shipped lots of packages, I can say with fair authority that it's both extremely time consuming and labor intensive. And as the consensus clearly shows, what PBE does is clearly spot-on in the eyes of the current customer. Why in the world would he want to complicate his life further and take time away from the real job of serving his customers by babysitting a website? Knowing David and his MO, he *would* keep it maintained and there only are so many hours in the day. Add that to the preponderance of webstores which do not properly maintain their inventories as reflective of their stocks and your question is answered. Why tamper with success? The horse is dead - let's bury it. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

No he doesn't - and he doesn't need one. I wonder how much business other sellers lose by not keeping their site listings current with their stock? At least when I order from PBE, I get 99% of what I order. A good deal don't. David is fast, he's professional and he spends his time doing his biz right. I wouldn't want to see him sacrifice any of his professionalism for webjuggling. He's also one of the fastest on the reply button as it stands. Yes yes, Im going to chime in here and offer my hearty approval for PBE. The response times are unreal. The process is very straight forward, the items ship same day or next after payment is received, every email includes a list of what you have on order. Since switching (back) to PBE I've been extremely pleased. Regarding not having a website? I ordered a CD from a well-known competitor (who will remain nameless) on 3 seperate occasions, followed up with 2 emails and still havent received my order or an explanation. What's the point of having a website if you're going to list products you don't have in stock?
