This Wednesday evening Sensory Effect will be bringing together some of Seattle?s most talented performers for an eclectic night of live electronic music that is sure to please. As an added bonus proceeds from this show will be going towards Decibel. Many thanks to Sensory Effect for the generous contribution towards the festival. Hope to see you there. Wed. Mar.16 CHOP SUEY 1325 e. Madison Seattle WA Doors open @ 9pm $7 21+ An evening with: Scientific American (livePA) http://www.dirtyloop.com/ScientificAmerican.html After establishing himself as a member of Seattle's indie rock scene with his band Hush Harbor, Scientific American (sound designer Andrew Rohrmann) became interested in the idea of using the computer as his primary instrument. His solo productions, which incorporate elements of electronic dance music, hiphop, and rock, have been used by The Seattle Art Museum, the Sound Unseen Film Festival in Minneapolis and for well-known television ads promoting Volkswagen, Hewlett Packard, and Discover. He has completed critically praised remixes for a number of indie favorites including Modest Mouse, 764-Hero, and Red Stars and shared the stage with Dabrye, Four Tet, Boom Bip, and Manitoba. With a production style that is mature beyond its years, Scientific American is poised to join the ranks of the top producers in electronic music. KJ Sawka (live band) http://www.kjsawka.com/ are Seattle's answer to Roni Size's Reprazent... but our guys bring the helter-skelter drum 'n' bass liver than the more renowned Brits. Led by sticksman Kevin Sawka, this group has been raising pulse rates, body temperatures, and libidos at full tilt for the last year or so.. If anybody's gonna put Roland drum machines out of business, it's the Squarepusher-esque Mr. Sawka, with an amazing display of frenetic beats and dexterous live drumming. Tonight Kevin will be performing with a live band featuring Christa Wells on vocals. Lullabelle (live band) http://www.junkstand.com/index.html Lullabelle, a six member collective, combines both electricity and elbow grease to create a singular experience: delicious beats married to wonderful noise. Lullabelle, like so many other social clubs, covens, and other meaningless niche organizations, is a temporary talk-down from the ledge, a safety valve, a kind of coming home. Lullabelle is built on the foundation that, no matter how hard we try, no matter how long we search, no matter how many clever, self-referencing, self-important moments we share, we can never be saved. Paul Edwards (dj sets) http://www.decibelfestival.com/perf...ct=paul_edwards Paul Edwards is a NorthWest disciple of the holy trinity of electronic music: DJ'ing, producing, and promoting. His studio work is an attempt to re-create the emotions one naturally associates with known sounds using unique tones. His DJ sets fit the time and location of wherever they fall, and are always full of choice cuts. Paul is the co-founder of The PG Series as well as a Decibel Festival director.
