Ok, in all fairness, there seems to be a slight language barrier here... My suggestion (if she likes softer stuff) is Ulrich Schnauss, Lali Puna, Jeans Team, BoC, Electric Company, Lackluster, Stars As Eyes, Four Tet, Prefuse 73, Adult., even DJ Shadow...etc...something to soften her up. I just put "girl" because here in Lima-Peru almost all the girls listen to the same music : merengue,pop,salsa,...Its very dificult to find here a girl thats list to something different. In the case of boys, there is another story. There are 2 big groups : the group who list to music that is popular at the moment and the group who list to punk. Its so hard to find a girl to list to non-dance music, but boys like that here are a lot (punk). Thats the reason I put "girl". Sorry for not being clear since the beaginning and thanks for the help :) -- Theorema Binario --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Well, that being the case, you might introduce chicas to music that has some connection to the music that they already know. So stuff like Senor Coconut would be an obvous choice. The Black Dog and Plaid woud seem a good starting point, because their use of percussion isn't that far away from merengue and salsa. For that matter, if you find a girl you like, that merengue and salsa can be pretty nice too, if you look for the best stuff. the guys who can dance the best with the girls gets with the best girls! Ah, cool to hear someone there is getting into cool music. When I was in south america, all the clubs always played the same 20 songs, over and over again. Where are you at, miraflores, Barrancas or downtown Lima? I Liked Barrancas, but not the rest of Lima. Well, I would say, Plaid would be a good place to start, as well as Aramchek on the Rotters Golf Club label has a semi-latin feel to it. Also if people down there like punk, Squarepusher is kind punk in a way, but if you are going for the ladies maybe that isn't such a good thing. People liked Tipper when I was down there, maybe that would be a good thing. It's too bad that marijuana is so poor quality and extremley illegal down there, that serves to broaden peoples musical horizons well! --- Theorema Binario <theorema.bin@gmail.com> wrote:

God I hate that movie. I love Björk, but that movie seriously sucks ass. It was one of the most boring and dull movies I've ever had the displeasure to sit through. -- Mr. Tangent [the binary police] www.mrtangent.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Girls are all different, just like boys! :) There are girls who listen to grindcore, girls who listen to gabba, girls who love dark industrial, and girls who like the sound of tearing wings off insects, not every girl is made of sugar and spice and everything nice. :) So I would suggest just letting her hear stuff you are enthusiastic about and like listening to yourself. She may share your enthusiasm, she may hate it, but at least it would be genuine. Introduce her to the whole spectrum- there is so much out there to choose from and let her choose for herself what she likes. There is no formula for girls that anyone here can recommend for you- girls are individuals too! :) Cheers, Julia --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I'd second that - trust your own opinion. I actually know more girls into harsh stuff than i do into the more melodic end of electronic music. (that's mostly doods with beards) But maybe its just the crowd i run with. - cutups --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
