[Highpoint Lowlife / March 2005 news] Hey, hope you're all doing well! Into March already, jings, soon gonna be summer and time for all them good festivals and sunshine! To the many who came out to the ISAN, Bovaflux, Fisk Industries show - a big thank you for making it such a wonderful night. Amazing sets by all involved and a really enjoyable evening. Lots of release news and live shows this month.. :::RELEASES:::: Like A Stuntman - the name is great, isn't it? dang, I'm excited! The new "Reduce" 7" is pressed and flying out the door as we speak. If you're an indie-geek with a collection of rare 7"s, collectibles and oddities - this is one for you - our first full band signing and our most overtly indie release to date: Pavement-esque detuned guitars and a healthy dose of frantic noise-pop (a la Boyracer or Deerhoof), propelled forward on a wave of Casio keyboards, lo-fi drum-machines, and infectious melodies! Limited to 300 copies, with full color design and sleeve. Download a track from the B side at: http://www.highpointlowlife.com/downloads/likeastuntman_homerun.mp3 Full length and tour to follow in May/June. Available now from Smallfish records, and should be on Posteverything and Norman Records within a day or two, and all other stores in a couple of weeks. v/a - Some Paths Lead You Back Again. (a compilation by the Marcia Blaine School For Girls) Initial reaction to this has been very strong, with Norman records, posteverything and Smallfish all selling out in the first week. Our distributor Cargo recieved them around a week ago, so you should be starting to see it filtering into stores this week... Sample: http://www.highpointlowlife.com/downloads/feld_puffin.mp3 For the upcoming year, the release schedule is shaping up like: [hpll012] Like A Stuntman - Fresh Air Is Not The Worst Thing In Town [hpll013] Bovaflux - tbc [hpll014] The Village Orchestra - Et In Arcadia Ego [hpll015] Fisk Industries - tbc [hpll016] Tigrics - tbc [hpll017] Izu - Yes Carb :::WEB RELEASES:::: If Marshall Watson's "The Time Was Later Than He Expected" was the sound of summer blossoming, this free mini album is the perfect glacial contrast: slow shimmering melodies hover beneath the frost of drone-based textures and the wind bringing the distant sound of a lone kick drum. Marshall Watson // 100 Smooth Trombones [hpweb010] Released 1st March 2005 01 Joins Rambles 02 Buried 03 The Switch Says Go 04 There Aren't Enough Of Us 05 The Edge Of The Front Grab it from : http://www.highpointlowlife.com/downloads.shtml under the web exclusives. :::LIVE:::: Bovaflux continues his mini UK tour, first one in London this friday, with support from Fisk Industries: Friday March 4th The Foundry, London Bovaflux with Fisk Industries (Live), Dancon1 & Pete Stormcrow 7:30pm, FREE! We'll be heading down to the studio directly from The Foundry gig, so expect some live tracks from Bovaflux and Fisk Industries, along with our usual selection of new and unreleased indie-rock and electronic mayhem! http://www.resonancefm.com :::COMIX:::: When Jen/Square Root Of Evil was over here visiting last month, we hung out at the Sprawl Interplay with her friend Chris. I stood and listened to them talk about their Diesel Sweetie t-shirt collections, before finally asking what Diesel Sweeties was.. genius! : http://www.dieselsweeties.com/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
