### Rashamon - Windo Loca ###
#######################################
Last month's release, the limited run of 300 Rashamon 7"s,
'Windo Loca', has left a blazing trail in it's wake with
Rob Da Bank playing both the A and B side on recent Peel Shows.
Stylus Magazine had this to say about it:
'Fetishists take note: Windo Loca is a sweet slab of 7-inch
vinyl from Brighton's Rashamon that pairs Seb Wyatt's guitar
loops with Lee Hume's samples and programming on two crunchy
head-nodders. Experimental and fluid, the title cut places
slow-motion, hip-hop beats and skittish breaks front and
center, and colours them with subtle wisps of melodic
sparkles and droning guitar strums; the B side's
'(Forgotten) Sherpa Folk Song' merges gentle phasing patterns
with slamming beat clatter and manic xylophones.'
To which Norman Records in Leeds, add:
'a lovely gentle mostly instrumental piece with shades of a
gentle Prefuse, or less jazzy Four tet, containing as it
does a lovely guitar loop & some understated atmospherics
B4 finishing with a spot of laptop assisted beat-staggering
mayhem. The flip is equally intoxicating, a glitched tin pot
beat under something that sounds like an open can of twisted
dreampop twinkling. Bloomin ace. We may run out of these
pretty quick but will get more from t'label asap if we do!'.

### Like A Stuntman ###
#######################################
Upcoming in the immediate months is another 7" project,
this one from Frankfurt's Like A Stuntman, who I had the extreme
pleasure of seeing play a few shows in Germany in December -
blinding live shows! The 7" will be shortly followed by a
full length album and a UK tour. Brace yourselves! It's a
departure from our recent electronic output, but for longtime
followers of the label, I don't think it'll come as much of a
shock - Pavement-esque off-key guitar hooks, crazed lyrical
content propelled forward by crunchy drum programming and
freeflowing casio riffs, all blended and mastered down by Twerk!

### Recon Remix Project ###
#######################################
Chris Coode/Motion's Recon project has morphed and grown in many
ways, from the original 'White Label' album, he reworked the
material for a series of live shows, and from these pieces he
then released the downloadable 'White Label Deconstruction' set
(
http://highpointlowlife.com/webreleases/recon_whitelabel_decontruction/whitelabeldeconstruction.html )
Now you can join in the fun! He's given us a series of 23 loops
used in the deconstruction, from static-y record sounds to
warping basslines, build your own masterpieces:

Send us your finished remixes and we'll post the best ones on the
site and send the first three entrants a free Highpoint Lowlife
CD of their choice ..
