I'm not familiar with Air enough to say. But aesthetically I'd count M83's sound as tangential to alot of IDM. They are as heavily electronic and independant-minded, which is really the only definition of IDM i can come up with. Don't mean to nitpick - I just think of IDM as being a very general thing rather than limited to autechre clones. --- WRECKED diy electronic music & media http://wrecked-distro.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cody Tubbs (wISPdirect)" <tubbs@wispdirect.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Friday, December 17, 2004 12:33 PM Subject: Re: [idm] M83 - online radio show

I LOVE M83! Dead Cites, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts was close to being my favoirte 2004 cd... who cares what the style is...btw, I bought there new cd called, Before The Dawn Heals us(Promo copy) at Amoeba records last week in San Francisco. It will be available to the public I believe on January 25 2005. Its similar to Dead Cities, but not as good in my opinion..a lot more vocal stuff, but there are 2-4 really good tracks out of 16. Get it, if you enjoyed Dead Cities. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cody Tubbs (wISPdirect)" <tubbs@wispdirect.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Friday, December 17, 2004 9:46 AM Subject: Re: [idm] M83 - online radio show
