Thanks to everybody that came out on Friday and sorry it had to end so early. I hope you all had a good time before Chicago's finest showed up, because I know I did. Based on the small amount that Plastique de Reve did play, though, I'm positive we'll have him out again. Also, thanks again to the Meiotic guys also for getting Phon.o out to our night even though he didn't get to play. Speaking of not playing, I was going to record my set on Friday and post it, but in lieu of that I uploaded my set from Happy Ending in NYC: http://www.atomly.com/music/atomly_-_happy_ending_nyc_20040820.mp3 Tracklist: http://www.atomly.com/music/atomly_-_happy_ending_nyc_20040820.txt -- :: atomly :: [ atomly@atomly.com : www.atomly.com ... I'm playing my first live techno set in Chicago since the one at Danny's in May and probably the last one for quite a while... I should be droppin a lot of new material (ACID) so stop by if you can and support. And if you've never heard Soultek, you're fuckin up. Also, everything is booked and confirmed for the Toronto show on the 18th and I'm super excited for the show.. The lineup is ridiculous (Enduser + me + Fishead + C64) and it should be a totally awesome time and the last time you can catch Enduser before he moves to Berlin and we become pop stars thanks to all of his hard work. The tracks he and I have been working on have been signed to Outbreak Recordings (UK) and the first record should drop in February, so be on the lookout. Anyway, www.atomly.com has all the info you'd ever need, so I'll shut up now and just give you the info for the show this Wednesday... ---- sonotheque info: ---- ATOMLY live - [Atomiq.Carpark] CHICAGO SOULTEK (Stephen Hitchell) dj - [ForceTracks.Kompute.IronBox] CHICAGO with residents: CHRIS WIDMAN | DON SOLO | msdjz FTM Residents $5 Door $2 PBR'S | $4 Cosmo's Doors @ 9:00pm Sonotheque @ 1444 W. Special guests for December... ATOMLY Chicago Atomiq.Carpark (live) Atomly hails from the great white wilderness of North Dakota and his Viking-like stature reminds you of his hearty root. Moving from Minot to Fargo to Minneapolis to Chicago, the 24 year-old producer spent over a decade soaking up the diverse and rough-edged Midwest party scene. You can hear it in his amazingly diverse live sets, which move from groovy minimal techno to seismic drum and bass and full-throttle breakcore. A dedicated programming geek, Atomly was one of the first producers to make the move from gear to laptop performances, composing tracks amidst a matrix of ones and zeros. But technique has little to do with the powerful sound that comes from his tiny computer (dwarfed even further by his 6'8" frame). He has appeared across the US as well as having logged several European tours and has performed with cutting edge artists as diverse as Brothomstates (Warp), Venetian Snares (Planet Mu), Sutekh (Force Inc.) and L'usine (Ghostly International). His music and remixes have appeared on his own Atomiq Records as well as releases from UK drum and bass label Outbreak and New York avant-electronic imprint, Carpark. (Joshua Glazer) www.atomly.com www.carparkrecords.com http://www.theopaqueproject.com SOULTEK Chicago ForceTracks.Kompute.Ironbox (dj) Soultek, a.k.a. Stephen Hitchell, has been making huge waves both locally and internationally with his unique blend of deep, spaced-out techno. As part of the Kompute Music crew in Chicago, he's released a number of original productions (including his "Groove Control," featured on the Fabric Series' The Amalgamation of Soundz compilation). and remixes of Toronto's Adam Marshall, Repair & others including Force Inc's Billy Dalessandro & Sub-Static's Brian Aneurysm. Stephen also has more remixes upcoming of highly respected artist such as UNAI, Frank Elting of M.R.I. & Ezekiel Honig. His work has found its way on to highly respected labels such as Fabric London, Iron Box and Antenna International. With a number of tracks slated for upcoming releases on some of dance music's top labels such as forcetracks & milleplateaux in Germany. His style is unique and his mixing that of perfection with over a decade behind the scenes & the decks. A unique performer who keeps the audience intently focused with his trademark sound, flawless mixing & soulful tech grooves delivered with pure class.
