Some info about the co-conspirators:
SIGNALDRIFT
Signaldrift is Franz Buchholtz, a one man unit based out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Since 1997, Signaldrift has combined 70s & ealy 80's ambient/electro with shoegazer pop and a cinematic sensibility, all to a dreamlike effect. His latest release on Wobbleyhead records, Compass, is decidedly uptempo. Ass-shake factor has been reconfigured but the shimmering moods and textures remain, retaining the warm flare that has always been the foundation of Signaldrift's aural output. Signaldrift keeps the clutter in check and adds only the necessary elements to hold down the groove. The diplomatic use of drum machine and live percussion drive these songs while the Peter Hook style basslines and shimmering keyboards give the songs depth and a nagging familiarity. Imagine the soundtrack to the discoteque in Cloud City, with pilled-up shimmy-bots drifting about the fringes. Whether you're a disc jockey or armchair enthusiast, Signaldrift will move your feet and tickle your brain. His signature minimalist, cinematic electro for punks in pumps is on the menu for the evening. Factory records updated. John Carpenter on a bender. Not body popping zombies but rather Ginger Rogers wearing samplers on her feet.
Franz has had various releases on OMCO and Wobblyhead records, with upcoming releases on both the Audraglint and Consumers Research labels. He has played around the country with acts as diverse as the Turing Test, Interpol, Nudge, Mr. Projectile, Strategy, Joan of Arc, & Casino vs. Japan. Add a slice of New Order, a dash of Brian Eno, a sprinkle of Spacemen 3, some chopped Morricone, and a scoop of Blade Runner for the Signaldrift feast. The queue starts here.

BTS.WRKNG
Besides wrecking decks all across the USA alongside such acts as Adult., Stereo Total, Signaldrift, !!!, Caural, Luke Eargoggle, Innerstance.Beatbox, Magas, String Theory, Def Harmonic, TV on the Radio, Nudge, Quintron, Wang Inc. and many more, BTS.WRKNG is heavily involved in various capacities with Milwaukee's Wobblyhead Records and is the co-founder of affiliate label Frank Wobbly & Sons. He also hosts Milwaukee's most popular and longest running electronic music radio show on WMSE 91.7FM.
Currently dividing his time among producing tracks (both on his own and with longtime collaborator Signaldrift), designing LP sleeves, maintaining a long-distance relationship with the woman of his dreams and finding a pattern in phi numbers, BTS.WRKNG very much looks forward to this Windy City excursion, in no small part because it affords him an opportunity to play for fresh ears and revisit some great records that Milwaukee folks are sick of hearing him spin.
