I'll second that, although I think it's just as easy to do complex drum programming with cubase. The only thing missing is the retrigger effect, but you can simulate that by using 128th notes with increasing or decreasing velocity. Still, I think that trackers lend themselves well to this because they tend to be very quick to write with once you know all the keyboard shortcuts. Here's an old track of mine that was done entirely with impulse tracker: http://www.resynthesize.com/dl.php?file=/music/brandon_tallent-stat.mp3 Brandon On Tue, 27 Jul 2004 13:15:08 -0400, The Typo Knig <mikey@ce-mu.net> wrote:

I have been making beatslicers and glitchers powered by tempo clocked lfo's in vaz modular, awesome for making crazy edits and generating new beat patterns on the fly Here is me talking through said glitch/fx machine, this is a live input process and it sounds way cool when you put a beat in it and lock it to the tempo <http://www.partyvibe.com/bobule/glitchtest.mp3> http://www.partyvibe.com/bobule/glitchtest.mp3 bob(ule) -----Original Message----- From: btallent@gmail.com [ <mailto:btallent@gmail.com> mailto:btallent@gmail.com] Sent: 27 July 2004 18:26 To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] Drum Patterns I'll second that, although I think it's just as easy to do complex drum programming with cubase.
