i caught cex last night in pittsburgh. it was very interesting because his show has totally evolved...either that or he was just doing something very different last night or for this tour. he played with a drummer, and almost all of his sounds were extended "jam" songs with singing, touching on abstract reggae with alot of fx and live drumming, shakers, tamborines and other misc percussion; sounded almost like !!!'s more stripped down stuff. no rap, and none of the older more melodic stuff. it wasn't amazing, but it was definitely interesting to check out. it also was cut a bit short due to time at the venue. - cutups --- WRECKED diy electronic music & media http://rhinoplex.org/wrecked

Yeah, I saw him too, doing this kind of stuff (with two friends of him). And I did not like it. We already had this discussion here, so the essence of all was that some people liked it and some didn't (and you can say this to like every post ever made about music in this group). Maybe Cex thought of how to make a live-laptop-gig more interesting or eye-catchy. Well I see he made it. People are discussing about his shows and perhaps he likes to be seen as somehow unpredictable.
