Really great stuff????????????!!!! Like what? It's really easy to dismiss these albums after a decade, but when they came out they were the sound of the times. When I mentioned Cleopatra and Invisible, those were only two labels of that era with which I would also group Reconstriction and Fifth Column. Pigface is one of the suckiest projects I've ever heard. I think Diatribe & 16 Volt only had one decent song each. Not Breathing is the only artist that has done some interesting work. I don't think any of the FLA stuff that I like appeared on those labels --- "Albers, Brian" <BAlbers@premiereradio.com> wrote:

Actually, the live album "Boil" and the "Null"/"Void" dbl-EP came out on Cleopatra in the US. Re-releases. http://www.foetus.org/text/satanr4.html "When Jim "Foetus" Thirlwell signed to Columbia back in '94 or so, there were supposed to be a couple companion singles released along with Gash called Null and Void. While Gash was readily available (and eventually ended up in nearly every single used CD store in existence), the two EPs were much harder to find. Null did show up from time to time, but Void was impossible to find. Obviously Columbia Records had high hopes that Foetus would somehow become the next Nine Inch Nails, but alas that wasn't going to happen. Fortunately for Foetus fans, Cleopatra re-released these two EPs in one handy double digipack." seek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Well... sort of. "Boil" wasn't released anywhere previously, and as for "Null"/"Void"...
quoted 8 lines "When Jim "Foetus" Thirlwell signed to Columbia back in '94 or so, the>"When Jim "Foetus" Thirlwell signed to Columbia back in '94 or so, there >were supposed to be a >couple companion singles released along with Gash called Null and Void. >While Gash was readily >available (and eventually ended up in nearly every single used CD store in >existence), the two EPs >were much harder to find. This isn't completely correct. Columbia released "Null" in limited numbers, but "Void" was never available until the Cleopatra release. Not that it really changes the fact that 99% of what Cleopatra has released is crap. :) Greg :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Greg Clow ::: greg@stainedproductions.com ::::::::: concert & event promotions ::: http://www.stainedproductions.com :::::: electronic music radio & reviews ::: http://www.feedbackmonitor.com ::: electronic/experimental record label ::: http://www.pieheadrecords.com ::::::::: 158 Close Ave. 2nd Floor ::: Toronto, Ontario M6K 2V5 ::: Canada --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
