Futuro
Matthias Grübel releases Futuro, an EP of flexible electronics and human emotion. A driving rhythmic collection set against a futuristic horizon that could tear your heart apart.
With Futuro, Matthias Grübel illustrates his openness to collaborate and innovate. The single ‘Waterfalls’ offers the emotive vocals of former Polarkreis 18 frontman Felix Räuber set against a backdrop of heavy electronica to produce a deeply charged offering - a cascading beauty.
‘White Night’ features Mea Lux and vocoder vocals, a portrayal of disconnected humanity and longing for return.
The work illustrates Matthias Grübel’s adeptness and comfort to navigate and explore across the axes of Techno, IDM and Elektro whilst bringing
their point zero back to the beauty and vulnerability of the human condition. The intensity in his work grows with his own pleasure in experimenting, collaborating and occupying the zone of bringing forth creativity.
Matthias Grübel
Berlin-based musician and producer Matthias Grübel works as a composer soundtracking theatre productions. Over the years the sound of his solo projects has morphed into a moving and ambitious blend of contemporary
electronic music on the one side and the more experimental textures rooted in his stage music work on the other - always with a strong focus on a 'listening' approach in both arrangements and production.
The EP‚ ‘The Longest Year In History' (Audiobulb Records) marked Matthias Grübel’s first release under his real name. In 2020 he follows on with ‘Atlantika’ single and Eps ‘Matters Of Stability’ and ‘Versions of Stability’.
Best wishes
David Newman
