I was reading the local Denver Westword weekly and it had an article about a Denver/Boulder based "record pool". I'm mostly a bedroom DJ aspiring to play in the clubs someday. So I was curious if any folks on the list could comment on their experiences with the record pools. If you have the opportunity to join one, is it worth it? maybe. it kind of depends on your personal tastes, record buying habits & the like. If you join a record pool - any record pool - you inevitably end up with a bunch of records you like and wouldn't have otherwise picked up, a bunch of records you would have bought anyway, and two or three times as many records that you don't like and don't really want. of course, you usually get a good deal on the records, so it's not like you're paying retail for all of them, and with the advent of ebay it's pretty easy to get $$$ for the stuff you don't want. record pools are a good way of keeping track of current music without spending all your time poking thru new release lists and websites for stuff you might want to buy. -Wil M. --- eric scroger <metameat@yahoo.com> wrote:
