I've noticed that some of my formerly silver cdrs are now turning sorta bronzish on the top side. Should I be worried about that? They still play fine, but with cdrs so cheap, is that reason enough for me to make a safety copy anyway? Or is the whole thing a myth about the discoloration of cdrs?

Burn backups. That's CD rot. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/business/8635505.htm?1c "In the past couple of years, however, something known as CD rot, or bronzing, has slowly crept into the digital vocabulary. The Herald published an Associated Press story Thursday on this phenomenon of disc deterioration, which can often be seen when the disc is held up to the light. DVDs, while considered hardier, are also vulnerable." seek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
