makunouchi bento takes netlabel battle after an intense 15 day vote session, ogredung artist makunouchi bento takes the win at the first netlabel battle. in the first round, makunouchi, with their song "rokurokubi part 2", dominated their voting group with an amazing 11 point lead over the runner-up "matinee odeur cannelle" by camomille's kaneel. vim! with girl afraid, of monotonik, (the winner of group 2) had a closer race with only 5 points over sawe. round two was no competition. makunouchi bento started strong and ended with an overwhelming 21 votes vs the 7 raised by vim! with girl afraid. makunouchi bento is the duo component of qewza and wakax. their track "rokurokubi part 2" is one of four parts in an up-coming ep based on a "mixture of strange electronic noises and natural sounds, with a strong psychedelic vibe"; be sure to check out the rest of the album when it's released. in the mean time you can also listen to maku's new release on ogredung (www.ogredung.org), "a reprise of old amazing scene song 'morninfizik'", featuring nagz. the winning tracks of the netlabel battle will be pressed to a limited edition vinyl, along with a additional bonus track by makunouchi bento, and will be distributed to the winners as a prize. the rest of the vinyl will be up for sale at numia.org to help pay for expenses. pre-order your copy today!! the netlabel battle is an ongoing series and encourages all netlabels to participate. feel free to join the next battle by going to http://register.numia.org and filling out the registration form. http://battle.numia.org (battle homepage) http://archive.numia.org (numia's archive.org collection) http://www.ogredung.org (ogredung webpage) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FEATURED LABEL: Ogredung Ogredung is an Italian-based netlabel focused on experimental electronics and romantic noise unions. Diagram Of Suburban Chaos has a new track featured on the Switches CD - (Audiobulb Records) The track entitled "Wishing a Disease" is getting great reviewes from electronic music dj's around the world - but particularly from the colledge radio stations in the US. The track features poignant melodics, an idiosyncratic rhythms and an arrangement that incorporates delicate time shifting. Asthe bpm drops - the elements of the sound design and composition are exposed briefly - the bpm is then picked up again to present the complex whole. If you would like to check the track feel out fro yourself - we have a 1 minute sample on our homepage :::: www.audiobulb.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

"Wishing a Disease" is my favorite track from "Switches" right now. But the whole album is really good. Nice to hear an outstanding collection of electronic music from new(er), less hyped label. If you want to hear the whole track, tune into The Sonic Equivalent this Sunday from 5-7PM EST. Stream from www.wrct.org. I'll be playing a few tracks from the Switches comp and a bunch of other stuff as well. Speaking of comps, that Dura Matters comp on Zod is really great, too. With so many people getting so crazy into guitars lately (New Xela, etc...) it's nice to hear some ELECTRONIC music. Don't get me wrong. I like the sound of guitar. But it's just all getting to be so floaty. -Alan Quoting David Newman <dwnewman@clara.co.uk>:
