John Norseen Graduating first in his class from the US Naval War College, John Norseen is currently under contract to Lockheed Martin where, as a systems engineer, he works on special programs concerning next generation Intelligent Systems. He will share his cornucopia of advanced research, explaining his concept of the Norseen Semiotic, a model of semiotics offering new insight into perception, consciousness and communication; a valuable tool for any artist. [www.acsa.net/john2.html ] John Laraio AKA Mobius 8 John Laraio, AKA Mobius 8, shows why he was the grand finale on the last N'Sync tour with his custom Hydra controller. Laraio is an accomplished musician, producer and inventor, responsible for wireless midi and the infared D-Beam controller. His Hydra controller utilizes 12 infrared beams to trigger audio, 3D visuals, and a laser light show. Violence, trauma and artificial intelligence are transformed via cybernetic landscapes into memory and elegy. NAXSMASH [www.naxsmash.net] Sound Remix: Sariah Storm (Terpsichore) D.Jean Hester (Terpsichore, Dive Studio) D. Jean Hester is a media artist living in Los Angeles, California. Her work combines programming, databases, film, video, and performative elements to create participative/interactive pieces for physical installations, performances, and online platforms. [www.divestudio.org] Live Audio [A]PENDICS.SHUFFLE (PROPTRONIX|ORAC) Ken Gibson has stolen the IDMobile, smashed the Warp windows and ripped it onto the freeway...I mean, it needed doing, this joyride: ripping the beats out of the Standard Stuttered Breakbeat, cajoling harmonies to erotically saraband rhythmic structures that prophesy their own collapse at the culmination of each bar—there, a new sonic gremlin tinkering with the machine. Burning holes in the Plaid suit. A multiplicity of sounds, here, a harmony—hear a zilch, squelch—it's monumental and the sounds are alive in the tissues of this catacomb of changes. CUBIST (E.L.M) RD, founding member of ELM conceptions and many other experimental miracles joins us to share some of his original cell bending creations. He has releases on Bless Records and Muti Music and has just released his debut album Truth Has No Path on his own label Refiner Records. Join us as we celebrate Kraddy's first release Truth Has No Path; a multi-genera compilation of Kraddy's original works. [www.kraddyodaddy.com] DORFEX BOS (S.F) Anjalo is a budding SF experimental downtempo producer. Creating unique sound textures and bouncing beats, Dorfex Bos lets his immense sense of personal style bleed through in his music. SHERLOCK & shAmii Steve Nalepa, latest addition to the Terpsichore Production crew and Jamii Leightex join together as Sherlock and shAmii to solve the many cases of missing beats in the downtempo music scene. With nothing but a plaid cap and a magnifying glass, oh and some laptops, these guys create quite a live experimental downtempo show giving dubbed out glitchy breaks a bossanova flavor. DJs ANDRES OCTAVIO (TERPSICHORE) One of our most diversely talented artists, Andres brings crowds a multitude of music; IDM, Electro, Reggae and Dancehall, Jungle…the list goes on. He has recently relocated to San Diego from SF where he worked with Terpsichore and the Stress Collective doing events rich with culture, music and multimedia. [www.djandresoctavio.com] OOAH (TERPSICHORE) Ooah is the one of our newest local wiz kids. With an ear for music and a quick hand to scratch those records. Ooah enjoys playing a variety of genres. Depending on where you catch him, you might catch some damn good electro - breaks, smooth hip-hop, choice drum and bass or some groovy downtempo. DJ JON BAKER (BROKEN BEAT, S.D.) Currently the resident dj at BrokenBeat's eclectic monthly @ Kadan in San Diego, Walker has played at events alongside Prefuse 73,Richard Devine, Phoenicia, Otto Van Schirach and Bostich. He also has appeared on the digital nimbus radio show on (KUCI 88.9 FM Irvine, CA) and is a contributing writer for RE:UP (www.reupmag.com), a downbeatempo magazine headed up by fellow members of the BrokenBeat crew. dj jon baker will be spinning original Earth Circuit material along with his favorite glitch & crunk rock thrown into the mix. SHABD (BROKEN BEAT, S.D.) SHABD is currently a resident at BrokenBeat's eclectic monthly @ Kadan. He hits dancefloors with his choice of nice experimental sounds. Weather it's moody IDM or broken up beats, SHABD does it right. BEAUBOT (AUM | L.A.) Another eclectic addition to this line up. Beau has had his hands in all genres. He will be setting us all straight with some good sounds. SARIAH STORM (TERPSICHORE) Sariah Storm is founder and director of The Terpsichore Group. She and friends work to continue producing art showings and events highlighting that of the abstract sound and performance in SF and LA. When Sariah plays music from her collection she explores layered textures and abstract beats warm and ‘electronic' in genres such as experimental electro, IDM and minimal techno. Ms. Storm enjoys good music no matter what shape or form and watching people get off on it.
