Saw Greg Davis live last night in Ann Arbor. He's touring as a band with two
friends. All I can say is if he's coming to your town, you should go see him.
The show was really really awesome. Sound was great, and the three of them
played really well together. Greg said they've only been playing together for a
little while, and this was their first real show as a band, but they were really
tight.
Greg did guitars, harmonium, laptop and other various noisemakers, Steve was
drums and noisemakers, and Ben was guitar, bass, organ, melodica, xylophone, and
noisemakers. They mostly did stuff from Curling Pond Woods, and I thought the
vocals sounded really strong, better than what's on the CD, in fact.
More info on the Autumn Records site:
http://www.autumnrecords.net/ Looks like
some great lineups for some of the other dates. Hrvatski, Marumari, Montag...
I'll be catching them again next week here in Pittsburgh with Colongib. Lemme
know if you're gonna be there!
Later,
Alan
