Philly has a worthwhile IDM scene that most Philadelphians don't
know about ... The few and far between like labels TBTMO who
practice what they preach are hardly supported in the "215." The
people of Philly want the "rock" and the generic formula driven
rap/hip-hop ...
If you are in Philly catch Hologram at La Tazza or random "IDM/Left
field electronica" nights at Silk city or elsewhere too.
Intellectos used to be based in Philly the Intellectos team which is
now just Julian and me (Fitz) is moving to California. We are not
moving to California for the IDM scene but because of other reasons.
Anyway, I have been living in New York for a year and Julian just
left South Philly 2 weeks back.
Let's hope Rob TBTMO and Sean Flowchart/Fuzzy Box keep the nights
and music going .... Philly has a nagging "stubborn" indie/retro
rock cold. Please someone take these Strokes records and burn
them ...
cheers
FITZ
