So is it a show on NPR or a show on a single public radio station? I ask this becase reciently I spoke with a guy form NPR and he said there was nothing like this... Certainly, our frozen northern cousins have a fantastic national radio show called Brave New Waves which is on the CBC, and they play everything from insane hard to insane soft stuff... anyways, i you're looking for info- just do a google search.. I'm always surprised by what I find... JF/DS

The station is IPR: http://www.bsu.edu/web/ipr/aboutus/aboutuspage.htm "Indiana Public Radio's mission is to inform and entertain through exploration of the arts, events and issues. While presenting a global perspective, Indiana Public Radio will also seek innovative ways to focus on the performances, activities and concerns of the community. Indiana Public Radio will strive to become a model of community service by using the unique ability of radio to be a catalyst for positive community action." However, they are an NPR member: http://www.bsu.edu/web/ipr/aboutus/history.htm "1980: On September 12, after more than 50 years of experimentation and twenty years of broadcasting, WBST became a member of National Public Radio with substantially increased support from Ball State University and an expansion grant totaling $98,000 from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting." Will the show be broadcast only on IPR, or will it be shared with other NPR members? seek

it takes a lot of popularity for a show to get national broadcast on NPR. Not every show can be a prairie home companion or this american life. however, most of the local NPR stations have web broadcast archives of everything that's played, so there's still a way to hear it. Sort of a tangent on the topic. But there is that show "Echoes" that plays on NPR. It seems to cover this "world-music"/newage/ambient kind of territory. Which when i think of it doesn't seem very popular or significant. But its also not personally an area of interest. Still, if a show like that can exist, why not something diverse dedicated to all "interesting" electronic music? I think its just that this music hasn't reached the appropriate level of popularity with the NPR audience... - cutups --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
