I know someone can help me out. My friend made me a tape, and one of the songs, I know I've heard before. It samples "Wheres the money kid, fucking up your generation". I can't remember where I've heard it before, and who is it by? (And the sample also) Onto other news, I got the new 2 7" from v/vm as well as the kid606 NWA remix. The falco tribute is great, the finest version of "Rock me Amadeaus" I've ever heard. The Kid606 is fun to listen to as well. Both are limited, so I would suggest picking them up soon! ph il Someone asks a wise man: If I throw a stone towards the infinite, where will it land? The wise man answers: it will land in your own hand. --Alejandro Jodorowsky --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think it is more a philosophical question using breaks or unique samples in the songs. Even using the 808 or the 909 is not just about programming the patterns and pressing play. It's the postproduction (or lets say unsing effects) which can give the sound its fully potential. Ok, we all have been able to see that there can be a whole kind of music based on one simple (and unbelievable sounding) instrument (takling about the 303). And I agree that this special kind of sound, coming out of this instrument will never be boring or played out. But there will (and has to be) a development in music. And isn't it just great taking any kind of sample and building a whole song whith all the stuff out of it (like Funkstoerung for example does) sounding linke nothing you ever heard before? So in my opinion it's the sound that counts in the end.
