The vinyl version of the "compilation" has all the tracks from Joyrex J4, J5 and J9ii 12" EPs (thus lacking ``Humanoid Must Not Escape'' from the 10" J9i); the CD version has everything except the remix of ``Popcorn''. I am not 100% sure because I haven't even opened the seal on my vinyl version yet (since I have the original J4, J5, J9i and J9ii EPs :), but it would defy logic if RePHLeX had decided to shuffle tracks around and make new plates just for the "compilation" vinyl. I could be wrong, maybe someone should verify. -- nuutti-iivari meriläinen gordon at diversion dot org http colon slash slash www dot diversion dot org slash --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The CD also lacks the song commonly known as "R2D2." The vinyl version has the "Popcorn" remix on it? That's odd.. I guess Richard must've decided to ommit the copyright infringing songs from the more-likely-to-be-popular version of the release. -- andrij. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

That's ancient. Do you have the analog bubblebaths? Drecxiya's EP on Warp is along that same like, as is a lot of the older rephlex releases. derek -- eggytoast.com : eggtastic.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

those EPs are the best stuff that cylob ever put out... lots of glitches, squelches and banging+pounding... but also lush tracks like on caustic, that track 'cordiaton' (or something like that) and 'on a romance tip' ... also try 'industrial folk songs'... i think it's 1st cylob EP (as cylob)... now that's pounding beats... :-) or you can easily buy that 'previously unavailable on CD' compilation that feature most of tracks from that EPs... brilliant stuff!! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The cylobian sunset album also has some shining moments. I had picked it up a long time ago and sort of dismissed it, but after finding it and listening to it again, there's definitely some great stuff there. Cylobian Sunset is, to me, an absolute classic that harkens back to those golden days of yore(tm) during the mid-90s. God, I miss those days. My favorite track might have to be 'I left my heart in syntax error.' The title alone was worth the cost of that disc. Heh. I think Cylobian Sunset was the second Rephlex disc I ever owned. The first being Feed Me Weird Things, due to Gonzi's incessant hyping of that album. Not that it was undeserved hype, of course. Later, Alan P.S. I have to say that Cylob's Mood Bells really didn't do anything for me, and I was harshly disappointed about that. I look forward to the day (probably in vain) when Jeffs drops some more of that old school IDM on us. Quoting EggyToast <eggy@eggtastic.com>:

That track is incredibly awesome. awesome awesome awesome. that song alone is worth getting the Kinesthesia EP 1. For about 3 years the two EP's sat on the lonely shelves of Mod Lang going unnoticed, too (original pressings). But not anymore. -mark qwerty wrote:
