Piehead Records Newsletter for November, 2003 Scroll down for info on OUR LATEST RELEASE ::: 2004 SERIES ::: PREVIOUS RELEASES ::: EXPANDED MAIL ORDER SERVICE ::: ORDERING/SUBSCRIPTIONS ::: :::::::::::::::: OUR LATEST RELEASE ::: PIE023 : Tinkertoy : _Broken Bodum_ Tinkertoy is Paul Shrimpton (Toronto) and Andrew Wedman (currently based in British Columbia, with previous stops in Barcelona & Toronto). Both Andrew and Paul came from classical music backgrounds to form Tinkertoy in 2000 - a project that has since evolved into a unique style of washy, sometimes melodic techno. Tinkertoy's music is about the discovery of beauty in sundry noise. Their sound palette is developed through an extensive process of sampling outdoor environments and natural instruments and remodeling those samples using their own programmed software. ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie023.html Like all of the releases in our 2003 series, _Broken Bodum_ is an EP-length disc on CD3", packaged with a unique Japanese paper insert and limited to 211 copies. It is available as part of a subscription to the full series, or as an individual item. They're quite an international bunch as well, with representation from Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Australia and The Netherlands. We're going back to full-length albums in 2004, and will be continuing our tradition of limited edition releases (211 copies) on professionally pressed & printed CDRs. There will also be a compilation released in December that will feature exclusive tracks from all of the participating artists.
