HOLE-E-SHIT!!!!! I experienced the Warp Tour last night in Seattle with DJ N.E.D., Chris Clark, Luke Vibert and Plaid. What an amazing, refreshing, energetic, playful, menicing, diverse show. Every act out did the last, building the whole night up into a climactic mindfuck. I will say that Clark's set struck me as being the most orignal, seemlessly fusing elements of hip hop, acid, techno, IDM and drum & bass. Honestly, I thought his live set (almost all of which was unreleased material) outshined his recorded material, which I really like also. Very impressive. Vibert, who did a Traktor set, started out with some new material from the "Yoseph" album, which got everyone up on their feet, but it wasn't until midway through his set that I really started to get into it. Like Clark, Vibert scanned nearly every electronic genre seemlessly. Acid breaks, hip hop, techno, drum & bass, IDM, you name it. I've seen Luke DJ now 4 times and this was BY FAR the most impressive set I've heard him do. My one gripe....he played twice as long as Plaid. Plaid destroyed it, plain and simple. Beautifully scupted rhythms layered with atonal chords, Plaid pull out all their signature tricks. It was interesting watching the audience dancing to Plaid, each person finding their own rhythm within the music. Some just stood and watched the live visuals by Bob (go Bob). All in all their set was truly inspiring (intelligent, funky, beautiful, fun and unique). If this tour is heading your way I HIGHLY recommend checking it out. -Sean ^(|_|)^ _________________________________________________________________ Need a shot of Hank Williams or Patsy Cline?
