Yet another Lex records update, chock full of links to underline how critically acclaimed our fine music is... THE HYMIE'S BASEMENT ALBUM IS IN SHOPS NOW Andy and Yoni have notched 4 star reviews in Q and Uncut this week. The album is out now. You can listen to the audio now at www.hymiesbasement.com and if you live in London pick up a Special Ten sampler CD from venues and cinemas around the city, they feature a Hymie's track as well as some music from Domino and Output - http://www.specialten.com THIS WEEKEND IN ISLINGTON If you don't know where Islington is then skip this paragraph... John P's (www.cdbaby.com/cd/johnp) Kinky Voodoo shabazz is this Saturday at The Bull, Saint John Street, Angel, EC1. It's 8pm-1am (entry free). Kid Acne (Invisible Spies / Lex), Infinite Livez (Big Dada), Tom Central (wwfm.co.uk), Memmott (moc), Newman and some good looking guy are playing records. It should be boss. DM & JEMINI SIGN FOR INFINITY PLUS ONE ALBUMS Danger Mouse & Jemini have just signed to Lex for a period that lasts longer than the universe is expected to last! The deal is rumoured to be worth more than twenty million pounds! Their new smash hit EP "The Twenty Six Inch EP" (out only in Europe!) is out now, in Europe! * In other news there's a boss interview in The Independent which you should read, it's pretty interesting. The duo are also listed in The Guardian's Top 40 US Bands List. If you live outside the UK you may not realize how big that is. They are both big papers like the New York Times. Wicked eh? There's a very dope review of the album by Abnorm over at Boom Bap in Scandinavia and another at the international hip hop resource centre UHHA. Thanks!! NON-PROPHETS POWER MOVES Sage Francis is firming up the Non-Prophets / Grand Buffet tour for February / March 2004 in the USA. Lex and Non-Prophets should be publishing the tour dates really soon. There should be a new 12" (featuring special guests) out around that time. More on that soon. * Now it's time to dry your eyeballs out reading about the band off your PC screen...
