This is due to a last minute doublebooking at the Arts Cafe, so it's pretty much word of mouth and emails, if you can pass the info on to anyone else who would be interested, would be much appreciated... STATE51 presents a very special indie-electronic pop night, featuring the lo-fi quirky motorik of The Chap, and the lush delicate sounds of Margo. date:: Wednesday, November 12th. venue:: State51, 8-10 Rhoda Street, E2 7EF Closest tubes:: Old Street, Liverpool Street time:: 8pm entrance:: 5 pounds [THE CHAP] The Chap are a punk funk disco rock machine with moog, cello, guitar, drums, bass and vocals. This is rock but not as we know it. Wire guitars, disco strings, funk bass and three part harmonies create an unmistakeable sound that defies any sensible description. [MARGO] Margo make soothing sounds for baby and you. Music for people who love cats. Delicate, delicious, and delectable, 'lectronic-ish, indie-esque, warm and cozy, take it home and wear it every day pop fantastique. hope you all can make it, should be a good one! cheers, thorsten --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

One for our European readers. Remember when Channel 4 did their "100 Greatest Scary Moments" TV program around the time of Halloween this year? Well before they showed the actual program they were showing an ad for it, and I'm looking for the name of the music they were playing during the ad. www.commercialbreaksandbeats.co.uk doesn't have it. It reminded me of Ventolin by Aphex Twin, but it wasn't. Anybody know what I'm talking about? -skkatter ===== http://www.skkatter.net __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? don't know, but if it reminded you of ventolin by aphex, it might be 'infra-red combat' by front line assembly. they used ventolin samples in that song and i think it would fit well a halloween ad.

Did you miss this gig? HAH, YOU FOOL!!!! I had a really shitty three hour train journey to London for this one but it was definitely worthy. Thorsten warmed us up beautifully with a somewhat diverse but fitting hard disk jockey session on the laptop to kick off. Margo, what can I say about Margo? They made some really pretty noises. Slightly indie, slightly electro and very beautiful, both to look at and to listen to. As for The Chap.... They fucking rocked!!!! In fact, they rocked so hard, I had to go and have a lie down afterwards. I definitely want more of both. You need it too! Another bonus was the atmos, it was pretty much a perfect evening. Nice place, nice people, nice music. What more could a man want. lee, thanks for the feedback! It was a rather excellent night! Everyone straggling home at the end, looked all drunk and happy, and loads of people walked away with a CD from one of the bands, always a sign that people enjoyed it. The Tim Burton-like video that we played at the beginning of the night was one of Margo's friends who had asked them to do the sound track for it. You can download the video at http://lemusicienlefilm.free.fr/download.html For Brighton people, Margo play their last show of the tour tonite at The Sanctuary Cafe - 51 Brunswick Street East Hove Brighton,. Say hello if you come along... thanks! thorsten |- highpoint lowlife records winter collection 2003\ |---- n.ln // fisk industries // si-cut.db --------\ |---- http://www.highpointlowlife.com ---------------\ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
