Record Camp presents Power Corrupts featuring:
Digitonal [Toytronic, Seed records, UK] Live
RJ Valeo [Type records UK] Live
Record Camp DJ's and Chung King xXxPress spin.
[About Digitonal]
Digitonal is London based producer Andrew Dobson in collaboration with
violinist Samy Bishai who have worked together on this project since
Spring 2001. They have also performed live frequently in London and
Sheffield and have begun working with an expanded line-up to include
drummer Callum Macmillan and long-time collaborator, Mark Pinheiro.
Inspired largely by minimialist pioneers and Artificial Intelligence era
electronica, Digitonal aims to bridge the gap between the melodic and
the abstract with emotion-laden strings and angular beats. It is an
acknowledgment that many people that have Aphex Twin, Autechre and Plaid
in their record box are also into Arvo Pärt, Steve Reich and Phillip
Glass.
Their live sound is central to their appeal, with laptops and
pre-prepared beats being replaced by instruments, drums, real-time
effects and improvised riffs, putting human involvement back into
electronica.

[About RJ Valeo]
RJ Valeo (aka transelectronic_theory) has been composing and performing
electronic music for over 10 years but has shied away from releasing his
material. With over 5 albums in private distribution, he has taken the
final step and decided to bring his compositions out of the studio and
into the world. Part mad scientist, part coffee junkie and part sonic
gorilla, he brings with him from the smokey depths of his underground
studio all the sounds of the undithered world. using unique sound design
treatments and processes, his compositions span from glassy rezonant
sheets of sound to turbulent storms of pixels and electronic dust.
