I think we live near an Amazon shipping center because I always get super saver stuff in 2-3 days. The Directors Label thingers came in about 3. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yeah, there's one in Delaware (the warehouse capital of the US). It makes upper east coast shipping *really* nice :D Stuff shipped UPS ground from NYC takes under a day to get to b-more. heck, it's quick even from massachusetts, where FE is. derek -- eggytoast.com : eggtastic.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

It's about a 12 year old with a horny dad, a horny grandpa, a brother's girlfriend who macks on him, a girl in school who macks on him, a girl from outer space who macks on him, the pet robot who's a bit nutty, and a giant conspiracy to destroy the earth. It's also the ultimate meta-anime. Even the name of the show is multiple puns. For your average American viewer not "into" Japanese "culture" at all, it makes no sense for the first hour or so. But it's fucking gorgeous, and hilarious to boot, if you get even one-tenth the jokes. Me, I'm never (whatever) enough for anyone - I'm not punk rock enough, IDM enough, otaku enough. Yeah, I worship the ground Takashi Miike walks on. So I understood a large chunk of the show up front. Parts of it go by so fast you have to read the websites to figure out what's going on. But I *LOVE* FLCL. (There's even an Aphex Twin reference in episode 5, which aired last night on Cartoon Network.) The packaging for them was originally very awesome, with a nice thick book, but unless you order direct now, I understand you won't get them. I only got a book with volume 1, my friend got a book with 1 and 3, but not 2.

My shit ain't even going to ship until a week after I ordered it. I wonder if they're trying to skirt Share the Love discounts or something. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

flcl is a six-episode anime series put out by gainax (the studio behind evangelion, among other notable achievements) that's really, really weird. cartoon network has been playing dubbed episodes sporadically for the last few months, and the series was put out on dvd by (i think) adv films. sadly, there's only two episodes per disc, but it's such a great show that it doesn't really matter... flcl is kind of hard to understand if you haven't seen much anime. well, it doesn't make much sense in the first place, but a lot of the jokes have to do with anime cliches in other series. it's really good. check it out. --- Aaron D Meyers <adm226@nyu.edu> wrote:

Argh! I've got such a backlog of anime DVDs (including FLCL, which I've only seen the first DVD of) and then you come and tell me which one to watch next... :) *goes bonkers* (Of course, even though I didn't have the time lately thanks to uni projects, I just had to watch the last disc of Noir as soon as I got it... and I can't say that I've been disappointed by the ending, which plagues quite a few other anime shows... :) -- Kurt Bernhard Pruenner --- Haendelstrasse 17 --- 4020 Linz --- Austria .......It might be written "Mindfuck", but it's spelt "L-A-I-N"....... np: The Chosen Brothers - Mash Down Babylon (Rhythm & Sound With The Artists) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
