Tomas Jirku (Can.) - live
A special guest from Montreal tonite, Tomas records for Force Inc., Klang
Elektronik, Traum, Audio.NL, Jeff Milligan's Revolver, Alien8, Mitchell
Akiyama's Intr_version, Onitor. Jirku first received international attention
with his online "Variants" project, with which he exposed his creative process
on an Internet website, collecting a series of 59 interrelated compositions.
He has played at such festivals as Mutek & New Forms, the diversity and
quantity to Jirku's musical output means that no single label is capable of
keeping up with his creativity, and the close knit community of electronic
music labels that extends beyond borders allows him to expand his musical
horizons. Most recently his lively performances have included his experiments
with acid-house and sometimes even more agressive moments in techno.

Si-cut.db (UK) - live
Douglas Benford is known mainly as SI-CUT.DB, has a new album out
with Stephan Mathieu/Full Swing on Bip Hop, and a new solo one in
production on the Highpointlowlife label soon; he is also regularly releases
material on the Bip hop label. As well being a co-curater at london
experimental music event lab SPRAWL, Douglas has recorded under
various other pseudonyms, plus had collaborations as TENNIS (with Benge)
currently, also with Rechenzentrum, Scanner, Add N To X, St Etienne,
and Andrew Weatherall. Douglas has been seen & heard on European ARTE
TV (with Stockhausen), UK's ITV's Mixmaster series, Resonance FM, John Peel and
Radio 3's Mixing It. Recent SI-CUT.DB tracks are on labels in the US
(Simballrec/12k), Nothern Ireland (Fallt), Spain (Spa.rk), germany (Background/
FeinRaus), and various french labels. He has played at places all over
the world including New York (Tonic), Berlin (transmediale), Australia
(Frigid Club), Scotland (CCA), Vancouver (AV Lodge) and Austria (Ars
Electronic) events, UK (ICA, Tate Modern as part of the Tennis duo) and
in France (Batofar boat), various festivals), and other events & galleries.

David Toop (uk) - live
Musician, writer and sound curator, having written books such 'Rap Attack',
'Ocean of Sound', and 'Exotica,' and written regularly for The Wire, The Face,
The Times, The Observer, Arena, Vogue, Spin, GQ, Pulse, Urb and The Village
Voice. His first album was released in since 1975 he has released scores of
albums - and curated five CD compilations for Virgin - including Ocean of
Sound, and Guitars On Mars. As well as curating Sonic Boom (Hayward Gallery),
David has worked with Brian Eno, John Zorn, Prince Far I, Jon Hassell,
Derek Bailey, Talvin Singh, Evan Parker, Max Eastley, Scanner, Bill Laswell,
Lawrence English and writer Jeff Noon (the "Needle in The Groove" album).
He is shortly releasing new work on Bip_Hop, but also has recorded for
labels such as Sub Rosa & Brian Eno's Obscure.

= Philippe Petit who started animating radio shows and editing zines in the
mid-80s. In the 9Ts founded HC vs. Nozy label Pandemonium Rdz. 41 records
later, he needed to rejuvenate and start a new label. BiP_HOp was
physically born in 2000 and will document electronica that is challenging
the ears and the mind for the century to come...Bip hop has passed its 20th
cd release, and after last year laying such events as Ars Electronica and
Transmediale, this year Philippe played at Sonar, and was also responsible
for a special Mutek event in Marseille. His DJ sets involve his ibook and
radio noise...!
