I think you're reffering to the rapture, not idm but rocking and very
appealing to the electroinc dance music fan.
I agree with you on the notwist and postal service, those are nice but
they hardly rock although the first notwist album does actually rock.
Afx records rock too but not in the way that I think you're thinking.

Subject: [idm] feedback on rocking idm
a big thanks for all the suggestions on rocking idm.
as soon as i find some real computer time im gonna
follow up on a few of the bands named.
however, i still cant help but feel that what im
looking for just hasnt happened yet. i didnt say rock
*and* idm- i said *rocking* idm. bands like notwist
and the postal service, for instance, are to my ears
way too tame and bland. I need ROCKING! :) i want
waves of sound. bent chords. large amounts of
processing. live and electronic percussion combined.
vocals that work with the music rather tahn just lay
over it. again, boredoms- vision creation newsun and
the swirlies collaboration with dj spooky point to the direction im
looking for. but im afraid the music i have in my head just hasnt been
accomplished yet. maybe i should do it :)
anyways, hopefully im wrong and once i check out some
of the suggestions i havent heard yet, ill find my
fix. just wanted to say thanks, though, for all the
feedback!
best-
-Thad
