Hey there, some new music for people, both in CD and MP3 formats.. HIGHPOINT LOWLIFE /////// [HPLL005] Fisk Industries // The Isle Of Wight EP Internationally renowned conglomerate Fisk Industries, is actually the creation from the mind of one young man, mild mannered and sharp eyed aural and visual artist Mat Ranson. Based in London, Mat has been working within the visual arts field for a number of years now, while confining his musical experiments to his home studio, between friends and various web releases. On this, his first official release, Fisk Industries recalls an idyllic sun-drenched weekend holiday with friends on the Isle Of Wight. Field recordings combine with dreamy analog synths and low basslines, sweeping you along on a gentle current before the crunch-laden heavy drums kick in and you find yourself completelty immersed. Recalling the simplistic beauty of Isan, and the carefree naivette of Boards of Canada, the debut EP by Fisk Industries is a carefully constructed and presented, tightly produced slice of warm electronica. [HPLL006] Si-cut.db // Find Some Shade Static infused, and processed dub basslines combine with german minimalist tech sounds and driving rhythms for this, the latest full length release from the prolific Si-cut.db. Douglas Benford, the man behind the Si-cut.db persona has over the past ten or so years released a vast catalog of solo work and collaborations on labels ranging from Spa.rk, Bip_Hop, BackGround, Expanding, and working with people like Benge, Scanner, and Stephan Mathieu, all while also co-running the London based monthly Sprawl club and label, alongside partner in crime, BitTonic. In 'Find Some Shade' Si-cut.db pushes his sound further, continuing his explorations of found sound and digitized noise, combining it with a more dance oriented, tho stoned and hazy, lofi groove. These both just came in this morning, so they won't be shops for a few months yet, but we have them on the online store on the site... http://www.highpointlowlife.com where you can also download some mp3s from both releases plus assorted other mp3s including a 5 track Web-only EP release from DoF. 8BITRECS.COM /////// Can't remember when the last time i posted about 8bitrecs was on here, so you may have missed a few new releases... Chris Coodes, aka Motion [12k, FatCat] has been busy at work. Between working on a new album for Highpoint Lowlife under the guise of Recon, he's been collaborating with a number of people in the studio. With San Francisco based The Deletist: http://www.8bitrecs.com/cgi/artinfo.cgi?artist=Motion/Deletist and with myself: http://www.8bitrecs.com/cgi/artinfo.cgi?artist=Re:b0ard London based Mothboy uploaded a couple of tracks, nicely industrial and heavy on the beats: http://www.8bitrecs.com/cgi/artinfo.cgi?artist=Mothboy Previous to that, we had two other lads, both coincidentally from the further out reaches of the Scottish wilderness... http://www.8bitrecs.com/cgi/artinfo.cgi?artist=Straiph http://www.8bitrecs.com/cgi/artinfo.cgi?artist=JW+Pepper thanks! thorsten |--- Highpoint Lowlife records -----------------\ | http://www.highpointlowlife.com -----------------\ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
