Holy shit! Jim Thirwell scored a film? I guess that kind of makes sense. The Steroid Maximus material is pretty damn filmy. Anyway, as for soundtracks and all that... Ennio Morricone is sort of the king, but you might do well to get a compilation of some sort. You'll invariably discover that everyone samples him. Like that venetian snares - dance like you're selling nails track. Bernard Herrmann is another favorite of mine. I mean... all of his shit is awesome. The Hitchcock stuff is among the best. Also, the day the earth stood still is a theremin classic and aptly sampled on Timo Maas' track Help Me. Also, Danny Elfman. Also Peter Thomas. Get Rampatrouille because its awesome. And whoever mentioned Jerry Goldsmith on Logans Run, I second that. As well as Mr. Goldsmiths Flynt movie soundtracks. Thats all for the moment. ----- Original Message ----- From: antIDisestablishMentarianism <harvey_the_black_dog@yahoo.com> Date: Monday, August 18, 2003 8:39 pm Subject: Re: [idm] Re: soundtracks

Christopher Young for: Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II, A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge, Species, Copycat, Urban Legend, Bless the Child, The Gift, The Glass House and most recently The Core. The big question is, was Ennio Morricone mentioned on behalf of Lolita (god, that was a beautiful film)... Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk fame) for Irreversible (what a love scene Monica Bellucci had on the concrete). Angelo Badalamenti for: Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Lost Highway, Arlington Road, The Beach, Mulholland Dr. and Rabbits. Tomaso Albinoni for: Rollerball ('75) and Gallipoli. --- Aaron D Meyers <adm226@nyu.edu> wrote:
