Last intended comment on the subject and then onto
some jovial discussion about music.
There is a book "How Holocausts Happen: The United
States in Central America" by Douglas V. Porpora,
which explores the United States role in Central
America. In Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador the
US was involved with many factions that were
committing genocide on the locals. Tens of thousands
of people were killed in each country. There is some
discussion about the German people's indifference to
the atrocities, and comparing that to the American
public's indifference to out government's genocidal
policies.
Nicaragua even took the US to the World Court and the
US was found guilty for committing acts of terrorism.
Our media and country pretended nothing ever happened.
Then Nicaragua took it to the UN Security Council and
the US vetoed it.
The author did a hell of a job documenting his
evidence and research.
Another good book (but much lighter) "Lies my Teacher
Told Me" by James Loewen, had some very interesting
stories about how Woodrow Wilson attacked and plunder
many countries in South America, and how puppet
dictators soon sprang up.
It's all very informative reading.
