Wow, what an amazing set... I was completely blown away, which was surprising after I was so disappointed after his set from the previous year. He did a very diverse set, played stuff from Feed Me Weird Things and Hard Normal Daddy followed by stuff from Go Plastic and Do You Know Squarepusher?, there was also a bass only rendition of Herbie Hancock's Chameleon!). All of the tracks were very different from the album versions, and quite a few had live bass which was being fed through all kind of fx. He also played loads of new tracks, ranging from well danceable tracks to psychedelic ambient noisescapes to cut up digital dnb. Great crowd as well, with his insulting shouts of encouragement present as usual. It was probably the best live electronic performance I've seen. Anyone else catch it? afx's dj set was pretty excellent too. I definitely heard a few new tracks in there and all the jump up and ragga stuff he played went down really well. Also, he limited himself to about 2 mins of high frequency noise, which was good. Missed Chris Clark and Plaid though, were they any good? Also saw the Skattelites, who were probably the best act of the festival. Ska is the best dance music. ...skism --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
