Because of people like you, snobbery is a part of the idm scene just as it is a part of every scene. However, I'm a firm believer in our ability as a community to seek out and destroy you and your cohorts. Take this as a warning. All people seen snobing around will be shot. All people seen wearing boring clothing that their mothers bought for them will be shot. As far as fashion taste, it seems to me that my friend Magnus’ outfit (fishnet shirt, etc.) which he designed and sewed himself was a hell of a lot more creative then the black sweatshirt and converse sneakers that seems to be the standard uniform you snobs aspire to. It also seems to me that people who think of themselves as being on the cutting edge of music would be a little bit more open to creativity that isn’t based on the status quo.>>> Hey even cutting edge kids got to wear a uniform. All scenes no matter how open minded/avant guard/cutting edge will always put down those who do not "fit" the "parameters". No matter how arbitrary the "parameters". There is no way of knowing how to act or what to wear sense there are no guidebooks, all you can do is go a few times watch the behavior and dress of the masses then get in line like a faithful lemming. Don't worry though this has nothing to do with you. This is what it is to be human and insecure. We want to be accepted and loved so we follow the masses (how ever small that mass may be). Then we want to feel special, so instead of actually becoming special, we make up reason why other are not special, so by relative comparison we will look like we stand on a higher ground. "Velvet and Fishnet, please" God, it brings a smile to my face wondering who made the rules of tacky and untacky. Oh well. My personal reasons for going to shows is not to judge others. It's because I have a deep passion for music, plus I like social environments. I like watching interactions. I might even find someone's dress or dancing odd, I may even judge it bad or good, but to let it affect the mood or my enjoyment of the event would be ridicules. As long as someone is not imposing there will on my why am I going to let them bother me, and why would I try to prevent them from being who they are. This is childish and petty. If people want to be snobs let them be snobs. If people want to dress in stilts and safety orange and pastel rags adorned with christmas lights and tinsels let them. Why does it matter to me? zach well said, clothes don't make the man. some good points, i'm a firm beleiver of wearing what you want, who cares. clothes are a funny thing, didn't we first just start wearing them to keep ourselves warm? Then they became fashion, wearing a fashion sucks tshirt became fashionable... i think you covered it. I guess its a touchy subject for some...... personally i enjoy hitting the town in a white fake blood splattered lab coat and matching spalttered pants. on another note; a man walks into a bar with a stearing wheel hanging out of his fly. The barman says "Hey mr, did you know you have a steering wheel sticking out of your fly?" To which he replied: "Yeah i know, it's drivin' me nuts". manifestevil Manifestevil: http://www.freewebs.com/manifestevil/ (download sound, view images etc): http://groups.yahoo.com/group/manifestevil/ Calm Before The Storm: http://www.freewebs.com/calmbforethestorm/ (download sound, news etc): http://groups.yahoo.com/group/calmbeforethestorm/ --------------------------------- Yahoo!
