Based on all the excellent suggestions so far, I'd have to include Ambidextrous' new one on Shaped Harmonics called 'Post-Pop Workshop'. Most definately Nick's strongest and most mature release to date. This has been a favorite of mine for a couple months now and will probably wind up on my top 10 this year. http://www.mu.ru/ambi I've also found myself playing Kadah Vresky's 'Tomato Weirdo' release on Djak-Up-Bitch/Clone. A very diverse and solid listen for fans of BoC, Prefuse 73, or Casino vs. Japan. http://www.clone.nl/outnow/0180%20kadah%20vresky/texull%20is%20sea.mp3 http://www.clone.nl/outnow/0180%20kadah%20vresky/TR30.mp3 http://www.clone.nl/ And although not melodic, I have to say the beatwork on Portland's 'Distal' MD is just stellar. - synctank perfect_dark radio http://www.synctank.net ----- Original Message -----

i just received a copy of Tam Tam - Miles, on the Music for Speakers label. i like it quite a bit, especially the relaxo abstracto remix. I have two questions: 1) does anyone know of any shops in the US where i can order more releases from this label? they seem to be virtually impossible to find (though i haven't tried ebay yet. i'd prefer to get them new anyway.) 2) i'm particularly interested in Sonar Lodge and Relaxo Abstracto. unfortunately, i don't have a sound card here at work so i can't check out the sound clips on the website (http://www.musicforspeakers.com/) so i'd be curious about any opinions on the work of these two artists, or about any of the other releases on the label. thanks, dave np - fourtet "rounds" and loving it. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? I've gotten them both from PBE ( playing.by.ear@mindspring.com ) and also from S://Kimo (support@skimo.com ) - both mail order outfits which offer great stuff and matching service. Being on both of their weekly email updates lists would be a good move if you want to stay up and what's out. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Keep an eye on things related to Lee Norris - whether it's on Hydrogen Dukebox (recent Norken and Nacht Plank CDs, e.g.). or Neo-Ouija. Lee has always been right there, but lately he's ever more so. If you haven't heard the new Deru ("Pushing Air" on Neo-Ouija), hang on to your hat - STELLAR!!! Someone else asked about Bola's involvement in this and I'd like to know as well. n5MD has some great stuff out. MD is wonderful. At 08:17 AM 6/14/2003, Jeff Davis wrote:

from what I heard of what he was doing a few years back it was pretty far from melodic. Good, dsp-esque max/msp type stuff, but far from melodic. Has he changed his style, or is this relativley melodic to say, autechres' latest or the more hyper programmed algorythmic stuff out there? --- Jeff Davis <pHlow@earthlink.net> wrote:
