[ Communication 2003 June ] Nomorewords.net - Set up to promote the sounds and other activities, of the Amsterdam based record labels Ann Aimee, Delsin Records, M>O>S Recordings, M.O.U.T. and NWAQ Recordings. http://nomorewords.net Update We've been overwhelmed with all positive feedback on the last releases; CiM's Noki Bay EP (Ann Aimee - ann002), the Dynarec 12" (Delsin - 38dsr) and Aroy Dee's Kiss-anthem (NWAQ03). All thanks. Below presented the last releases before summer. We're proud to present the new M.O.U.T.-label, set up by local fellows Jon Slocum and Sturmey Archer - read below! This, next to the full length albums by Strand and Alex Cortex, and Yotoko's rockin' 12". Enough to make it one lovely summer. More good news from sunny Amsterdam is the upcoming remix EP on UK's New Religion label. Kirk Degiorgio (aka As One) a.o. being remixed by Newworldaquarium (Peacefrog, Delsin), Peel Seamus (Delsin) and Aroy Dee (Rush Hour/M>O>S/Delsin) - an Amsterdam Rocks! EP - so to say.. Full sleeve artwork by Alan Oldham (Detroit). That's all for now. Have a good sunny summer and all the best.. In the meanwhile check out the mix-sets by Peel Seamus or Sturmey Archer at Forcefield Radio - http://forcefield.org/radio.html // Marty @ nomorewords.net [ Ann Aimee ] The new electronica label set up by Jeri Nairav to support the journey home of Ann Aimee. Hosting artists as Alex Cortex, CiM and Lucky&Easy. All artworks done by Amsterdam based graphic artist Delta. http://ann-aimee.net [ Alex Cortex - Inward CTRL ] [ ANN-CD1 & ANN-LP1, released June 2nd, out now.. ] The Ann Aimee label comes with it's first full length album. Alex Cortex does the job, and his CD 'Inward CTRL' contains 24 (!) tracks, ranging from ambient sound scapes to complex rhythm affairs. As a whole it reminds of Black Dog Productions, Boards of Canada, The Detroit Escalator Co, CiM and likes. He perfectly combines intriguing melodies over rhythms with a little touch of the Detroit sound. Alex Cortex is a young, multi-talented guy from Germany and has done releases for labels such as Source and Klang Elektronik.. The brilliant pieces on this album, bring back some needed warmth & soul in electronica. The album comes in a catchy three-flipped digipack CD and full colour LP-sleeve, with limited white vinyl, both designed by Delta Inc. (The double vinyl version is called 'Inwards' and comes with 17 tracks - limited white vinyl -. The CD has seven tracks more, taken from the 'CTRL EP', released March 2003). [ Sounds: please go http://ann-aimee.net ] [ Delsin Records ] The label set up and run by Peel Seamus and around for several years, with artists like Aardvarck, Newworldaquarium, Dimension 5, Future Beat Alliance, Yotoko, $tinkworx and others, this label hardly needs any further introduction. http://www.delsin.org [ Yotoko - All Creation Remixes EP ] [ 39dsr/ytk2, coming June 16th ] Shortly after the release of his co-produced Rima-album on Jazzanova's JCR-label, Domu (aka Dominic Stanton) amazes again with this co-production as Yotoko. As follow-up to Yotoko's debut EP and warm up for the upcoming Yotoko album, Shifty aka Dave Farlam and Domu deliver this raw heavy loaded dancefloor monster. Rough straight beats come with low basses, funky melodies and smooth strings, but mostly a pure bliss of energy. Side b brings two raw dope beat tracks. This new EP should please house- & techno headz as much, as it should all broken beat lovers, talking about breaking boundries.. For more information, also check http://www.dom-uniqueproductions.co.uk [ Sounds: http://www.delsin.org/39dsr/39dsr-a1.mp3 | http://www.delsin.org/39dsr/39dsr-b1.mp3 | http://www.delsin.org/39dsr/39dsr-b2.mp3 ] [ Strand - Messages CD ] [ 39dsr/ytk2, street date June 16th ] Messages' is the first full length CD-album by Detroit's collective Strand. It compiles the gorgeous technosoul sounds of their three Message EP's, that were previously only available on vinyl, together with two extra bonus tracks. Strand is already for over ten years involved in the history of Detroit techno. Strand consists of Brian Boyer, Kech and B. Bonds (brother of Marty Bonds), and they began recording as T.H.D. for Antonio Echol's Serious Grooves label. The first release as Strand was the Floyd Cramer's Revenge EP (together with Claude Young) for Shake's Frictional label back in 1997. In 2000 Shake released their first Message I EP on his elusive label Frictional. In 2001 and 2002, Message II and Message III followed on Amsterdam's Delsin label. During that period Strand also built up a big name with their live performances, performing twice at the DEMF. Their lush sounds are now for the first time available on the cd-market. The sounds of Strand end up somewhere between Shake's freestyle techno approach and CiM's soft electronic excursions; strings, melodies and gentle rhythms are all around, with tracks going all funky and soulful, techno in a very musical manner. It's an excellent step in the continuing evolution of the Detroit techno sound! [ Selection of sounds: http://www.delsin.org/40dsr/40dsr-02.mp3 | http://www.delsin.org/40dsr/40dsr-07.mp3 | http://www.delsin.org/40dsr/40dsr-11.mp3 | for more: http://www.delsin.org/40dsr.html ] M.O.U.T. [ M.O.U.T. Recordings ] M.O.U.T. is set up by long time comrades Sturmey Archer and Jon Slocum. They are tired of all the too much smoothness and beautiness of music nowadays, too much jazz dance-like tunes, too much overproduced soft techno, too much 'music even my mother likes' as mr phenomal 154 says.. They want more rawness and more direct emotion! They want punk and sizzling funk back into electronic music, a straight in your face approach, instead of music being an article of expanding personalities. Music will be an entity on it's own! These and other reasons form their approach for all tracks released on the M.O.U.T.-label. Tracks only to be live recordings, direct contact, raw emotions.. Welcome to their Electronic Punk funk disco! http://www.forcefield.org/sturmey/ [ Jon Slocum - Upstairs At Derrick's - Session 1] [ 2003MOUT-1, street date June 23rd ] First release by Jonny comes with two far over ten minutes mad electronic funk jams. One side 'Space Station' is fully dedicated to (Carl Craig's) Paperclip People and 69-projects, this all hoping to get Carl back to the spaced out techno jams instead of all his over serious and pretentious music lately. The other track, 'Pret-A-Porter' brings Jonny back to eighties styled disco, himself doing the bass, with some slightly cheesy synth lines, stuck in your brains after one time listening. All ladies dance! Go-go check the tunes within some weeks in your favorite store. As most is all is in the music.. ======================================================================= [ Releases to come after summer ] [ Ann Aimee ] [ CiM - Do not multiply models - ann-cd2 ] Brilliant CD compilation of two classic, now deleted eps: Service Pack (Delsin '99) and Warm Data (deFocus '00). [ Delsin Records ] [ $tinkworx - T.b.a. - 41dsr/$tw2 ] Follow-up to his already classic 'Todas Las Noches' EP, from the master of sleazy tech-disco. [ Delsin Records ] [ Yotoko - Wet Ink - 42dsr/ytk-cdlp1] Bumping debut album fully on the edge of broken beat and techno - produced by Shifty and Domu! [ M>O>S Recordings ] [ Aroy Dee - Goddess/Razar - M>O>S0001] First release on their own label, bringing you house music it ought to be!
