Hi, this record store from which I was going to order Notwists Neo Golden holds two different versions: the normal and a 'labels vision version' which is cheaper. Now, does anyone have an idea what this 'labels vision version' might mean? It's peculiar, since both versions have the same tracklisting and otherwise identical info, except for the price and the release date: 'Neo Golden' is 16.95 euros and has the fourth of February (2002) as the release date, whereas 'Neon Golden/labels Vision Version' costs 13.95 euros and has 22nd of April (2002) as the release date. If there wouldn't be any big differences between them, I would of course pick the cheaper version, but something seems to be terribly wrong here... Anyone? .: visa tapani --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Speaking of Micha Acher, i was at the Morr music night in London last night - Styrofoam, Ms John Soda + Isan. Really good night, not a genius night, nor a night to talk of for years, but definitely a good one. It was sort of running late, supposed to open the doors at 7:30, but they weren't opened till at least an hour later. By the time i had grabbed a beer, i had missed the first 10 or 15 minutes of Styrofoam, who was pretty much the act i wanted to see most. Arne was accompanied on stage by someone on guitar - blindingly good music. I don't think he seems completely comfortable on stage, probably more due to him now singing on a lot of tracks, so i would imagine slightly nervous, but completely satisfying. The new album 'I'm What's There to Show That Something's Missing' hasn't been discussed on here, but i think its fscking genius indie-pop-electronica. The track 'Forever, You said forever' hits you right in the stomach each time - sweet melodic clicky electronica but with the overdub of a couple having a fight, giving the impression you can hear them fighting through the wall, slightly muffled + disturbingly voyeuristic. Ms. John Soda was a lot of fun, just incredibly simple clean shoegaze inspired pop music, carried off really well live. They played a few new songs at the end which really rocked out, sounding sort of like the No-Wave inspired sound of The Chap. Isan ... Two guys on stage with their matching Korg MS-2000s, looking kind of awed that the crowd were so rapturous for them. So good - big slow bass + kick drums, childlike melodies playing over rising washes of synth. They looked like they really enjoyed it and the crowd totally dug it. Their set was squashed somewhat short because of the late running and the venue putting the lights on 11pm which was a bummer, but still a decent length. -thor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

there were several different versions of packaging of 'neon golden'. my version, which i'm very happy with, is a mini-double-digipak with two 3" CD (with side A of the album on CD 1 and side B on CD 2). i've also seen a normal digipak with a single 5" CD. i'm guessing the 'labels vision version' is probably the album in a normal jewelbox, with the 'labels.vision' DVD as a bonus disc (it's a DVD of music videos, quite a few good ones: air, clinic, royksopp, stereo total, cassius, etc; and a few promo interviews). hs __________________________________________________________ http://www.hotbrev.com/ - N?tets farligaste e-postadresser --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

If you like his CDs, you'll like the live set. He DJs two laptops thru Korg Kaos Pads, so it's not super spontaneous -- he's mostly cutting tracks together and messing with Pluggo effects live. But I liked it. Just don't expect Miles Davis or anything. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I've seen him about a dozen times over the years, and he is absolutely not to be missed. His sets vary- I've seen him do an hour of all catastrophic gangsta hip hop, next show an hour of all white-boy dancy techno with some gabber explosions, a set of all beatless and pretty ambience, a total punk rock set with many tracks from his Fucking Mentallist... cd. Whatever he decides he's in the mood for, he does it masterfully.
