AUDIO ON LEX SITE
So I was just looking on the Lex site and there's Real Audio for just about
every song on the label. What a relief. Now you can try before you buy. So
now you can find out if Mummy Fortuna's will wind you up, or if Jemini
really is a super-thug, or check out the currently unreleased Lexoleum bonus
songs by Why? and Boom Bip, or hear the Lexample promo etc etc

LEX RELEASES SPRING 2003
Lex has a clutch of new releases this Spring : Tes' widely acclaimed debut
album "x2" is out now. The album has had the best reviews in the press of
pretty much any album in history clocking up 9/10 in the NME, Vice called it
"the shit hot hip hop album of the year", Grandslam proclaimed it to be "one
of the best albums of 2003", Muzik awarded it **** and The Wire wrote
"
imagine the precise stutter and pivot of Prefuse73 coupled with the
housequaking ambition of El-Ps dirtiest

SOLEXISM 5
Thanks to Plastic People (!!), Warp, Scrappy, Maureen, Nick & Dee, Sheikh,
Buddy Peace & James Wheels, Tom Central, James & Kieran and all the
production team, everyone in the crowd (even the ones who rushed off to
message boards to bitch, ha! but especially those who didn't) for coming
down and most of all, all the artists who came out to perform at the show.
There were problems with the sound. I think that these were largely due to
the dimensions of the venue - it had a fucking huge ceiling and after the
Union Chapel Boom Bip we all know that isn't the easiest thing to compensate
for. The upshot was that the sound at the front was bad at various points
through the night. I am sincerely sorry for any loss of enjoyment and I
promise that at the next London show I will make sure the promoter and
sound team are working with a venue they have used before.
My highlights:
- Jel's set was awesome. Maybe the second track he played was the new beat
he gave me for the Prince Po project.
- Tes beatboxing!
- The whole of Themselves.
- Edan & Insight getting into the middle of the crowd right at the end and
kicking it acapella.
- All the 'happy birthdays!' :]
