i mainly sell dupes i have or records i know i won't really listen to. i'll often go record shopping buy records i think i mgiht like and not, then give first call to freinds and if they don't want them sell them on ebay. promos only sell for alot if you get them really early (hard to do unless you get them at gigs or people you know at labels) or there really old and by a well known artist with alot of collecters after the limited printed items. alot of the time its down to money as well, records or in effect a comodity and when times are dire you have to part with records or shave off the collection when its getting big.
