I'm looking for Ogg encoders for MacOS X. OggDrop and DropOgg listed on the Vorbis seem to have disappeared, while the N2MP3 package costs $60. I simply don't need all the features that it offers, otherwise I would consider shelling out the cash for it. Any help locating sharewarer or freeware ones is appreciated. Again, I'm looking for MacOS X, not Windows or Linux based. Thanks in advance i0 _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

hi, i never have the power to write reviews about discs, but today with all that sun... for me it's not easy to describe it allready like that and doing it in english doesn't makes it better. anyway, the latest freeform is absolutly brilliant ! never heard before of that 'non place' label and just saw in discogs that it's burnt friedman's label with 11 discs by him. seems to be the first no-burnt release. nonplace also has a cool website: http://www.nonplace.de check out atleast the hyper cool artwork of the disc! don't know if it's from his brother but it's superb. i like a lot more this one then the last limited cd 'late surfaces 1990-2000' ! this description is nice and says it all: this disc is the compelling mix of Freeform highlights from the past 7 years. Nonplace provides a introduction to Simon Pyke's finest grooves. All the titles - although derived from the original releases were radically edited "condensed" for predominantly entertaining purposes and remastered to guarantee 100% aural excitement. you see, not really a review but allready a recommendation me too, i guarantee 100% aural excitement cheers, derb --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I second this - but only if you don't already have some of it from elsewhere. It really isn't mixed or changed much, despite some of the things I've heard saying that some of the tracks have been changed a lot. They're all pretty much the original music. If you're looking for an intro to Freeform, or you just want to have a "best of" - this is definitely some of his best work. A superb compilation, for what it is. But if you have a couple Freeform albums already, your money is better spent on more full Freeform albums than on a compilation. These are all relatively easy-to-find tracks, I think, except maybe the first one from his first album. Not to dis this disc, it's definitely a good best-of, but there's nothing rare or special, if you already have most or all of the albums. (and I'll get around to updating my freeform discog someday soon...) -Adam Quoting derb <derb@klangforschungost.org>:

I think OggDrop is still there: http://www.nouturn.com/oggdrop/ And some other 3rd party software seems to be able to encode as well: http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=4 Not that I've used any Mac stuff. I run linux. -Adam Quoting iteration zero <iterationzero@hotmail.com>:

What shits me is that iTunes has *no* OGG support. They're a company embracing open source standards, yet they can't support OGG? I don't get that.
