I just thought I would pass this on for the Dj Shadow fans. ______________________________________________________ Zack de la Rocha & DJ Shadow Post Anti-War Song Song reported to feature such dissenting lyrics as "C-c-c-c'moooowwonn!" and "YETH!" Zack de la Rocha posted an MP3 of "March of Death"-- a protest to the Bush administration's Operation Iraqi Freedom with beats by DJ Shadow-- online on Monday, March 24th. Expectedly, neither de la Rocha nor Shadow breaks too much from the Rage template, delivering a rock-hop skree of fuzz guitar samples and synth missile sounds over a military march cadence. The flow is sharp, but vapid. Zack's lyrics could easily be misconstrued as a pro-war, anti-Saddam rallying cry, if not for the occasional mention of Texas. Rather than invoking dread, fear, compassion, or epiphany, "March of Death" comes off as spiteful, egomaniacal, and confusing. Here's what the Losangelino has to say for his protest: "Lies, sanctions, and cruise missiles have never created a free and just society. Only everyday people can do that. That's why I'm joining the millions world wide who have stood up to oppose the Bush administration's attempts to expand the U.S. empire at the expense of human rights at home and abroad. In this spirit I am releasing this song for anyone who is willing to listen. I hope it not only makes us think but inspires us to act and raise our voices." .: "March of Death": http://www.marchofdeath.com .: Zack de la Rocha: http://www.zackdelarocha.com .: DJ Shadow: http://www.djshadow.com Protest The Illegal War for Oil http://www.legitgov.org/peaceprotests.html ______________________________________________________ ===== "... we live in fictitious times. We live in a time where we have fictitious election results, that elect a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons" - Michael Moore __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
