Piehead Records Newsletter for March, 2003 Scroll down for info on OUR LATEST RELEASE ::: PREVIOUS RELEASES ::: UPCOMING RELEASES ::: LIVE EVENTS ::: ORDERING/SUBSCRIPTIONS ::: :::::::::::::::: OUR LATEST RELEASE ::: The third release in our 2003 limited edition series is now available: PIE015 : Phasmid : _Thrift Shop_ Phasmid is Kell Simon, a sushi- and Kraftwerk-loving civil rights lawyer from Birmingham, Alabama who produces wonderful melodic electronic music using old analog synthesizers and drum machines. _Thrift Shop_ features radical reworkings of tracks that originally appeared on his album _Her Friend the Blue Star_ (Skylab Operations) that have been cut up, put back together, re-melodized and vocoded for new and enticing sounds and textures. Like all of the releases in our 2003 series, _Thrift Shop_ is an EP-length disc pressed on CD3", packaged with a unique Japanese paper insert and limited to 211 copies.
