Take a gander at: http://www.paypalsucks.com Have to say it's refreshing to see a site like this. eBay owns 'em now so will things improve... or not? -Patrick --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

That anti-Paypal site is stupid. Paypal are efficient. Not perfect, but one can have problems in a B+M bank or with CC companies just as readily and for no apparent reason. Ever try to do a wire transfer? Sometimes it's a breeze; more-often-than-not, it is a pain-in-the-ass, requiring waiting in line at a stuffy bank, then another 5 to 25 minutes to execute the order, which probably won't go through the first time for some arcane reason, and you'll have to go back into the bank and try again. Paypal is a snap. Never had a problem with it. Click, type, click, type, and move on: payment sent. Receiving a payment is even easier. Oh, they take a fee: big deal: wire transfer fees are much higher. Paypal is 'preferred'. =) =seek= --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

A little bit later, Sullivan explains what he means by the term "flexible." Sullivan is director of the "law enforcement and compliance" department at eBay.com, the largest retailer in the world. Sullivan was speaking to senior representatives of numerous law-enforcement agencies in the United States on the occasion of "Cyber Crime 2003," a conference that was held last week in Connecticut. His lecture was closed to reporters, and for good reason. Haaretz has obtained a recording of the lecture, in which Sullivan tells the audience that eBay is willing to hand over everything it knows about visitors to its Web site that might be of interest to an investigator. All they have to do is ask. "There's no need for a court order," Sullivan said, and related how the company has half a dozen investigators under contract, who scrutinize "suspicious users" and "suspicious behavior." The spirit of cooperation is a function of the patriotism that has surged in the wake of September 11. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
