Unlike many electronica producers (bedroom or otherwise), Todd is unafraid to do things you're not supposed to do, like trying to recreate a guitar strumming effect in a sequencer, or laying his songs upon shockingly unorthodox rhythms. However, two important qualities can be found in equal measure in his entire oeuvre: energy and groove. Like all of the releases in our 2003 series, _Winning Record_ is an EP-length disc pressed on CD3", packaged with a unique Japanese paper insert and limited to 211 copies. Here are a few quotes: "The eight tracks that make up Navy Blue are remarkably melodic electro/nic ditties that are cute but not to the point of being cutesy... This series is strong right out of the gate and I'm not surprised one bit." [Mark Weddle - The Brainwashed Brain] "Slightly electro-y electronica in parts, with nods to Skanfrom, Printed Circuit et al but with gentle Morr Music prettiness abounding. Dead nice!" [Brian - Norman Records] "Aphex Twin inspired music, but one that is more sunny and quirky then the sometimes darker edges of Aphex or any of the Warp artists.
