The show at tonic on friday was fucking brilliant.
I'm writing this particularly to say that Shadetek are the shit, seeing
them on saturday reminded me of the first few times I saw Autechre, they
had this energy that seems to have been lost on the idm world for so
long. They got on stage with the obvious intent of fucking shit up and
making the crowd go nuts and they did, big time. Their sound is so dirty
and hard, I was blown away.
My advice for you guys is to pick up their last 12" with the custom
sleeves while you still can.
Kid606, he tore that place up, there was even moshing,
fan-fucking-tastic. I don't even know what to call the music he played,
gabber/idm/cut up dancehall and hip hop. It was all over the place but
in a really good way.
both Shadetek and 606 were not frontin on the idm geekboy tip that I'm
soooo fucking tired of, they were there to party and shouldn't that be
the goal if you're standing in a dark room full of strangers and theres
a drink in your hand.
