i just had to give my two cents when i saw neptune mentioned. before i discovered good information sources such as this list and grooves mag, neptune records was my only window into the world of good electronic music (other than listening to hours upon hours of npr to hear maybe one decent electronic track). their written descriptions (stuck onto most new arrivals) are always accurate, and have been my only reason for first buying many of the artists that i'm into now (arovane, pub, bola, alog, just to name a few). good store. also in the area, i should give props to stormy records, windy and carl's store in dearborn. there was an article in last week's real detroit on the techno exhibit. haven't been there myself, but check out their website: www.detroithistorical.org also, went to see interpol at st. andrews last saturday. it was funny hearing (and feeling) the people from ghostly intl. down in the shelter between songs. at one point the band even made a comment. if it's going to be an ongoing thing and tadd mullinix is there, i might have to check it out. just picked up 'panes' last week (from neptune, no less). good stuff. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
